Townley Grammar School is proud to share, as part of our commitment to developing a modern, world class curriculum – we are launching ‘AMBIT’ – our Monday after-school programme (2.45 to 4.15), launching on Monday 11th November and running for 6 weeks until Monday 16th December, in partnership with Future Foundations.
The Ancient Greek meaning of Ambit is ‘wingspan’. It is our intention to widen the wingspan of our students and help them discover spheres of interest once unknown to them.
We are delighted to share the courses we plan to launch AMBIT with are as follows:
- Creators Club: A creativity course designed by design thinking facilitators who will help to crate a safe space to be creative, and to come up with solutions to a real-life project
- Global Social Leaders Society: A course in social action project planning, this terms' focus will be on climate change. Participants will be supported to enter a global project competition.
- Digital Art: A specialist course in how art can be brought to life through technology.
- Issue based theatre programme: Experienced drama and theatre instructor will teach the students how to use theatre to discuss issues
- E-motion Public Speaking: A public speaking course developing confidence and life skills including resilience and emotional literacy.
All activities are led by expert external facilitators, who will be supported by Townley sixth form ambassadors. Students would attend one course for the full 6 weeks. This is a pilot of this new offering and there are limited places for each course.

- Non-refundable: Due to the short time-span between booking and the courses being offered, we are unable to offer refunds.
- If we cancel: There are minimum numbers to run each course, we will advise if we are unable to offer a course and will either offer an alternative course or full refund.
